| Paul’s interests vary and
are wide-ranging - from Astronomy (having once built a telescope
from scratch including the grinding of the optics) to Bonsai.
He enjoys arts and crafts of all kinds, but mainly likes to paint
landscapes trying to capture the ever-changing light on the English
countryside and its ever-changing moodiness.
Paul also paints animal pictures but does not do any detailed work
- he believes animals do not sit still long enough for you to paint!
Instead, Paul captures the animal placing them in their surroundings
and showing their different moods. This is readily apparent in his
work titled Elephant Storm which
features a group of African elephants on the plains showing obvious
signs of unrest as the storm approaches.
The unsettled group indicates a desire to be off.
His approach to art is personal; he believes that if you like it,
then it must be good.
